Why Your Emails Are Going To Spam... and How To Fix It)

email and the spam folder

Emails landing in the spam folder?

Are you spending good money only to not make sales from your email marketing?

Email Marketing is the #1 marketing channel for ROI... and often underutilized or used totally wrong.

Emails can be sent inexpensively from Amazon SES with software like Sendy or you can be paying big bucks using ActiveCampaign.

The source of where the emails are sent from is not the biggest culprit in most instances.

1. Misleading Subject Lines

The number one trigger of emails getting automatically sent to the spam folder is misrepresentation.

Common sense.

Write an email subject line that creates curiosity but also is not just click bait.

Every day I'm amazed that people are trying to grow their project or business by deceiving people. They think that "tricking" you will win you over?! D-U-M-B

The question to ask... does my subject line create curiosity about my subject matter?

If so, you have a winner. If not, use LeadScripts and get a winning subject line.

2. Lack of Personalization

The next biggest culprit that lands emails in the spam folder is; lack of personalization.

Emails that lack personalization are not a guarantee that you'll end up in the spam folder but by adding personalization you can increase your chances of staying out of the sin-bin.

Nobody wants their emails to land in the spam folder.

Instead of guessing about what you need to do, stick to the email fundamentals and you can almost always avoid the spam pitfall.

Tiger Woods has said several times that he wasn't born with any special "greatness" when it comes to golf.  "I just mastered the fundamentals".

You can master the fundamentals of email marketing like Tiger mastered golf. All you have to do is practice.

This is another one that blows my mind when people don't include it.

3. Failure To Include Unsubscribe Link

First off, why would you want people on your email list if they don't want to be on there?

Why keep haters or people not interested? Especially when you have to pay? Email is not free.

At LeadScripts we encourage you to unsubscribe if you're not interested. It does a few things for us.

1. Keeps our email list lean

2. Saves us a ton of money in maintenance and distribution

3. Helps us associate only with people really interested

We're not interested in hearing how terrible someone thinks we are or how some other software is better. We know we're the best so why listen to that malarkey😂
